International News. The 26/11 terror attack is a wound in the history of India that is still fresh. But the story of the two faces who plotted this attack starts from the same place where patriotism and discipline are taught. Pakistan's Cadet College Hasan Abdal. This is the same place where David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Rana studied together. Their friendship began here and later this friendship laid the foundation of one of the biggest terror attacks in India.

This cadet college located in Hasan Abdal in Attock district of Punjab province is the first cadet college of Pakistan. It was established in 1952 on the initiative of the then Pakistan Army Chief General Ayub Khan. The purpose of this institute was to prepare future officers for the army service academies. Admission here is done through a tough competitive examination across the country, and students are given not only academic but also discipline, leadership and military training.

Bright in studies but disturbed in mind

David Headley's real name was Dawood Gilani. He was the son of a Pakistani radio broadcaster and an unstable but sharp-minded American woman from Philadelphia. Headley and Tahawwur Rana studied in the same batch in this college and both became close friends. However, when the military dictatorship of General Zia-ul-Haq began in Pakistan in 1977, Headley's mother took him to America. From there onwards the story took a new, dangerous turn.

This is how anti-India conspiracy flourished

Headley and Rana's friendship continued in America as well. Rana became a medical professional there, while Headley, after acquiring American citizenship, started planning attacks in India in collaboration with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI and terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. In the 26/11 attacks in 2008, Headley visited India several times and did recce, while Rana gave him logistical support. That is, two old students of Hasan Abdal had now become the face of terror.

The thought of destruction came from here

Cadet College Hasan Abdal is still a prestigious educational institution of Pakistan. But it is ironic that the two minds that came out of the same institution which should inspire national service, bloodied the world's largest democracy. This incident was a warning not only for India but also for the world that the roots of fundamentalism and conspiracy can sometimes flourish even behind the most disciplined walls.
